Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

Aching All Over....

Just came back from the Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) held by the Navigators. I'm aching all over... can't even walk properly... argh... Think I need to get some Tiger Balm rub or something... But yea, the camp was really fun. Had a great time interacting with the freshies and Navs.
During the camp, Lee Tat, one of the Nav staff organised an outing to some of the farms at Lim Chu Kang. We visited the goats' farm (yay!! my favourite of all), frogs' farm (haha.. they had this frog-slaughtering demo... I didn't dare to go in... Imagine looking at them alive and kicking at a moment, and the next, one of the lot gets chopped into half... One of the freshies told me the details.... it's practically a 3-second kill thingy), koi farm (it's quite amazing to look at the price difference between kois in different ponds when they look exactly the same to me), dragonfruit farm (interesting that dragonfruits are actually fruits of a specie of cactus), and a few other fish farms.
We were having BBQ during the second night when it started to rain. What did we do? We set up a temporary BBQ pit at some step outside someone's room at Hall 2 (I think)... Muahaha!! We watched a foreign language film, Life is Beautiful after the BBQ(I think the official site to this movie has been removed from the net... can't find it).. It's about this Jew, during World War II, who tried desperately through humorous behaviour to conceal the hard fact that his family were sent to a concentration camp from his young son, lying to him that they were playing a game. The irony, I feel, is that beneath the funny, exaggerated scenes, lies the sad truths of war.

Anyway, my uncle brought us to this Brazilian restaurant for dinner.... yummmyyy!!! (especially the sugar coated roasted pineapples =P) Burp... Hee...

Playing this online game called Diner Dash... Started playing it on my brother's handphone this evening. It's so fun that I got him to send me the PC version.. haha

By the way, I'd like to share the lyrics of a new song I learnt during the camp (thank you Hweeming for teaching me.. hee): Click here for midi

Did you ever talk to God above
Tell Him that you need a friend to love
Pray in Jesus' name believing that
God answers prayers

Have you told Him all your cares and woes
Every tiny little fear He knows
You can know He'll always hear and
He will answer prayers

You can whisper in a crowd to Him
You can cry when you're alone to Him
You don't have to pray out loud to Him
He knows your thoughts

On a lofty mountain peak He's there
In a meadow by a stream He's there
Anywhere on earth you go
He's been there from the start
