Weekend was a simple one. Saturday was spent rotting at home for most of the day with dear dear. At night, it was more rotting at Pacific Coffee. Haha.. I like their huge fat coffee mug that you need to hold up with two hands and their large leather arm chairs. The music there is loud enough for me to relax and go into stone mode. Haha.. secured another good place for nua-ing besides our usual haunt at TCC. But EVERYONE there has a laptop..... =( Our quest to have our dinner late at night at 天天火锅 (heard it's cheaper after 10pm) failed after we got so tired that we want to go home. In the end, it was a da-bao pack of Mee Goreng from the 'restaurant-with-retro-songs' near my place.
Sunday was family day! It was great but tiring. My brother woke me up in the morning saying we will be going out for lunch and he's treating. We had our lunch at 亚洲金阁 at Odean Towers. The highlight's the Peking Duck which is on promotion for only 30 bucks per duck. On top of that we had Dim Sum. The taking of order comes in an order form where we mark the dishes we want from a variety of the listed. Since it is such a rare occasion that my brother is treating, I was the one who was happily marking '1' on the dishes whose names sound nice and tempting. When the bill came, it was kind of fun to see my brother starting to get worried he's got not enough credit in his debit card to pay... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *evil*
After the meal, we strolled over to Liang Seah Street for some Hong Kong style dessert that my brother was craving for. The shop has a funny name that I can't help laughing: 记得来. There was also this Steamboat shop that we walked past with the name: 鲜得来. In Hokkien it would sound like sian eh ge, meaning 'can bluff through'. LOL!! What's up with the names??
Then it was a trip to Marina Square, with the intent to do some shopping. But we kind of got tired and sat at Starbucks for quite a while. My parents are not the type to enter a cafe by themselves and I'm really glad that we can bring them there and chill out together as a family. It's nice to let them experience what we youngsters nowadays are getting into. (EVERYONE there has a laptop...... =( ) Had a relaxing time there. The arm chairs are so comfy and with the rain outside, I really felt like dozing off. Next to Starbucks' the 'CD Depot'. I thought it was gone for good when dear dear and I saw it missing from it's original location next to the DBS ATM machine. So customers of Starbucks kind of tan-dio when when the CD shop plays its endless list of super-nice songs. While mummy and I stoned with the music (with some chatting in between the stonings), my poor brother had to listen to my dad's long speech of global financial situation analysis... hahaha! After that, we did a little bit of window shopping and I went to my favourite shop (David Bitton) for another glance of
On the car ride home, I was looking out of the window, I saw a nice sleek black sports car. It was a BMW convertible. I was thinking, 'wow, such a nice car'. Then...... I saw the driver dig his nose....... yeeeeeeeeeeeeee.........
