Holidays are over just like that. Monday will be the real start of the new year (considering no one was really in the mood for serious work on Friday). Thinking about the pile of stuff I've gotta do scares me. Being away from work for about 2 weeks has made me kind of lethargic. Last Friday was especially tough, as I was struck with Post Holiday Syndrome (PHS), and yes, a rather serious one. Argh....
Anyway, weekend has been rather blissful. Dear dear and I spent the whole Friday evening after work comfortably slouched up in the bean bags at TCC, watching Love Actually on our lappy and having our dinner at the same time.
Watched the move Transporter 3 this evening. Just a typical action-packed movie, but dear dear loves the Transporter series because of the appearance of his dream car (Audi) in each of the three installments. The show was entertaining but I just can't seem to get over some of the glitches in the show which didn't seem at all to bother the scriptwriter, the director or anyone else in the production crew.
Audi in Transporter 3 comes in the form of a sleek black sedan, seemingly armoured against all ballistic, fragmentative and explosive threats(considering how it manage to survive rains of bullets and balls of explosions throughout the show without the slightest bits of scratches), seemingly scratch resistance (considering how it manages to smash itself against another vehicle yet did not suffer a teeny bit of structural damage), and most surprisingly incredibly light weight and water resistance. The whole vehicle sank into a lake and was amazingly brought to surface by 2 tiny airbags whose air was provided by mere air from 2 vehicle tyres. After its expedition from the bottom of the lake, the engine of the vehicle amazingly was able to kick start, and more fascinatingly, the vehicle was good to go without having to change the two deflated tyres.
As if the above wasn't incredulous enough, the owner of the Audi in the show performs just as well as his car did, surviving bullets, fights, crashes into mutiple glass windows and running through explosions without a slightest tear in his always ironed and probably starched black suits. Nevertheless, the show was.... fun (can't find other more appropriate words to describe it).. No offense dear... =P
There're actually a couple of good movies recently. This is definitely a change from the good-movie draught that hit the theatres for the past few months. Body of Lies, The Duchess and Bedtime Stories are a few that I feel are worth mentioning.
