Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

Bintan Trip 2009

It's kind of like an event filled week for me. We've finally went for our long awaited trip to Bintan. Had a really fun and unforgettable time there. The beach from the long coastline, the sea, and the cloudless blue sky were absolutely beautiful. At night, the skies were dotted with millions and billions of stars. It seemed like every single one of them can be seen. The sky was so clear, it was like lying under a blanket of stars. It was truly breathtaking. Never in my life have I been able to see so many stars. True, the resort was wonderful. They have many attractive amenities, even table tennis tables that dear and I had fun thrashing out. But the best parts of the trip was still wading in the sea, along the beach and under the clear blue sky, and standing awestruck in the middle of nowhere everytime I stare up into the nightsky, at the many many stars, feeling small and humbled by the wonderful creations of God.

Then came reality, we had to return home. And back to work~~~ Haha.. It was my birthday on my first day back at work... It felt alot like the time I had to go back to school on my birthday after a one month school holiday and having to sit for a Math mid-year exam during my Junior College days. The feeling was terrible! I had a really bad Critical-Post-Holiday-Withdrawal-Syndrome that took me full two days to recover. Symptoms were sludginess and lack of motivation to work... Only got back most of my rhythm on Friday... probably because weekend was round the corner.. Haha.. Anyway, on my birthday, it was nice that so many of my colleagues remembered (actually I was surprised how some of them even know) my birthday. Received a few text messages of wishes and greetings. Even received a small gift from the lunch gang downstairs.. Feel kind of happy and touched =).

Then darling bought me a real cake after work... Heee. He bought me a small flat one during the trip (those wrapped in a wrapper kind - it was a really really pleasant surprise though =D), because he couldn't bring a big one for a ferry ride.. He had to rush home, so in the end it was only my mummy and me cutting the cake. Still I wanted to light up the candle. My mummy even sang a short phrase of the 'Happy Birthday' song for me!!! I was so so so so happy. I mentioned last time that I was over the cake cutting and candle blowing thing, but when it is with family, I felt so much like a kid once again. It was a long time since my mum sang me anything, much less a birthday song~~~~ Because of these few minutes, it didn't really matter anymore that 13 full hours of my birthday were spent at my workplace. =) Oh and Debbie made a lovely bracelet by herself for me as my birthday present. It's not those type of bracelet that you would expect from a 6-year old kid. It is really beautiful and knowing that she threaded every single bead for me by herself makes my birthday even more heart-warming... And by the way, Debbie knows how to SMS. She's only six. She has been texting me almost everyday since last week. I was in total shock when I realised that she didn't have help from her mum with most of the messages... On Thursday, she even MMS some photos to me... =S Hahahah.. think my aunt's phone bills are going to hit the roofs this month. =P
