Mid-Autumn Festival~

Turned out to be quite an eventful Mid-Autumn Festival evening. In the end, we had steamboat alright, just at a terok place my bro suggested.. haha.. but we had fun.

Had a traumatizing experience with crabs. This steamboat place chops up live crabs when requested. The halved crabs were still moving on the plates when they arrive at your table. When they stopped moving I thought they were dead. But once my brother proceeded to put them into the hot boiling water, they started moving again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like watching them boil to death. And my daddy had to add on with, "Hey~ you see they are alive~!" Ah...! I watched in horror for the few seconds they were moving and sat there speechless for the next few minutes. Haha..

Dear went to buy lanterns because he saw me complain in the last post.. Aww.. so sweet.... We had our dosage of lanterns and sparklers (not the normal kind ok, they are STAR-SHAPED) and candles. Then 小黑 trodded by to join us after being attracted by the glows from the lighted candles and lantern. She sniffed at used up sparklers, poked her nose close to the flames, played with the hanging decoration from the lantern, and just laid on the floor next to us for quite a while while we sat there in silence, enjoying the lovely breezy night. This is life, really!

Sometimes I wonder if 小黑 gets bored. She's the only cat around the area, she doesn't interact with other cats, she doesn't interact with other dogs (haha.. of course not~). She doesn't have to find her own food because apparently someone is feeding her regularly. Sometimes she walks up to a human for a snuggle or a brush. I've seen her playing with cockroaches like most kitties do, running after mice for fun. But most of the time she is just sitting, lying and walking around by herself, watching the world go by. Her favourite spot would be the rubber-carpeted fitness corner next to the canal. In the evening, you can always find her sitting on the small strip of cement at the edge of the canal, just large enough for the width of her body, people watching (along the pavements) or fish watching (in the canal during high tides). Late at night, she would be lying around on the red tiles right in the middle of the open space next to the fitness corner. Probably because the tiles have cooled off from the daytime heat. Sometimes I really would like to see what is going on up in her little head. She has this intelligent look in her pretty eyes and of course there's her long tail and beautiful black fur that makes her so different. She has also, this air of proudness and elegance all around her that makes me find her so special.

After heading home, dear and I started watching the first three episodes of Supernatural season 5. Yea~ we are starting it again. =D

So that was my Mid-Autumn Festival. Spent with my family, dear dear and 小黑. It turned out to be so much more than I can ask for =).
