Mouse trap, mouse trapped

Someone set a mouse trap in my company pantry and a little mouse got caught! It's those sticky pad kind which you place on the floor and hope the mouse treads over it.. This little mouse did and it was trapped.. That's total animal cruelty! The adhesive on the pad is so strong any part of the mouse's body touches it it gets stuck. The little mouse ended up entangled alive on the trap in the most awkward position. I hate to think what is the eventual fate of the mouse, how much more it has to go through before it dies.. Not that I am saying the old classic mouse trap (those with a spring loaded lever) is less cruel, but why can't they use a cage or something like the workshop did? =_|
