Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

Bintan 2010~!

Just came back from our short little trip to Banyan Tree Bintan. The place is so serene, so private, we just had a wonderful time relaxing and rejuvenating ourselves. There was the South China Sea right in front of our room, right in front of our bed. There was the lovely beach that stretched out along the coast. There were sea creatures lying quietly yet actively just below the water surfaces. You just needed to take the focus off yourself, take the focus off people around you, and you would realise that these amazing creatures are just there, waiting for you to discover them. (It's like I'm doing a slogan for nature's advertising committee.... haha).

Darling's hand brushed past the bouncy head of a small-medium sized, almost transparent jelly fish (or rather, the jelly fish bounced off dear's hand - good thing the tentacles didn't though) =). We saw Dear spotted (dear 'geh gao' that he was the one who spotted and told me about it) a considerably sized spotted white crab on the sea bed just below the water surface. It was so shy it hid right back into the sands when we I (dear 'geh gao' again) approached to take a closer look. We saw countless small schools of fishes swimming so near the coast and got so excited we tried to follow them around. There was even this curious little fish that kept swimming and brushing around our legs just to find out what exactly are we strangers, who are invading its watery home. You see, it's not just us humans that are curious, it's not just us that want to find out more about other animals. We are not the only species living on this planet, and I simply just love it this way! (humans are kind of boring~ =P)

There were other creatures too. A squirrel that kept chewing off the bark of a tree, for what I don't think I will ever know. A bat that came to our villa's outdoor area every night to screech and to hang-out (literally). A huge monitor lizard that strolled past everyone else ever so slowly as if we are non-existent.

Even the times when it poured, I enjoyed the peaceful time with darling, lying on our bed, looking out at the sea, watching the rain trickle down the attap roof of our villa, listening to the waves, the rustling of leaves from the trees, rain falling onto the wooden-planked floors, creating a nature's very own symphony.

Watching DVDs from our four-poster bed, watching the candles waver from the four three (dear geh gao, insists I change to three) colourful candlelights darling brought for me, smelling the aromas of the incense oil and incense sticks infusing the room (even though they got choky after a while... lol), these were pure bliss.

There wasn't much to do, yet we feel satisfied and well-rested everyday. Lying under the sun (dear snored under the sun.. hahahaa), reading my National Geographic magazine, staring at the bright blue sky with swirls of clouds that looked like McFlurry, soaking in the sea, pitter-pattering up and down the coast looking for fishes only to discover more and more, dear piggy-backing me in the water... Haha, I'm reminiscing already~~
