Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

Ouch!!

Sunday service, as usual was at 9. I woke up at 8.20. I started having problems waking up at intended times ever since I got my new Samsung phone about 5 months ago. The alarm in this phone doesn't have a snooze function. Maybe it has but I have yet to figure it out. Too lazy to flip through the users' manual. And from experience, manuals are more often than not, useless. So, it turned out that I often lazed in bed and not surprisingly, dozed off.
So, yeap. I was running late. Yet, I still had to wash-up, bathe, etc. and by the time I left the house, it was 8.35 (speed-bathing.. haha). Afterwhich I had to walk to the train station near my house. The walk is about 10 to 15 minutes. So by the time I reached the station, it was 8.45 (speed-walking), and I was beginning to walk funny as my left shin started to feel the strain from all the 'speed-s'. Then it happened. I was trying to walk up the moving escalator at the station when I tripped. Landed my right knee hard on corner of the escalator step. To break the fall, I used my elbow. Yup. Wrong choice, you might say, but fortunately, nothing actually happened to my elbow. Maybe you can say I have tough bones. But unfortunately, I don't have tough skin. Something happened to my knee. There was a cut about 3mm deep. It wasn't actually a scrape of the skin(that was my right shin). More like a hole. You know, like the one of the marks made by a fork when you poke it into chicken meat? Something like that... Yeowch!
Lucky for me, no one saw... so embarassing. There was this malay auntie who turned around when she heard the thud from my tripping. But I quickly stood up before she could see me in my awkward state... haha!
This wasn't the first time I tripped while walking. In fact, tripping is my specialty. I could trip myself anywhere, anytime, at any walking speed, be it with slippers, sandals or shoes. I told my family that I really haven't master the skill of walking despite close to 22 years of constant practice.
But the thing is, I was only 5 minutes late for service. MuAHaHAHa!! Note that after the fall, I had to take an approximately 13 minutes train ride. Afterwhich was yet another 10 minutes of speed-walking. Feeling kind of proud of myself. =D
It's not good, hanging around Jenny for too long. All the 'speed-s'. Speed-walking, speed-reading, speed-this, speed-that. =P
