Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

It's a year! =)

It's the eve of chinese new year! And it's also our anniversary today =). Dear dear's gotta do his daunting task of spring cleaning for the whole of today till 1159hrs ('cos you are apparently not supposed to do any cleaning during CNY... anyhow I think he won't be able to finish it judging from the amount of things he's gotta clear.. =P) so we celebrated our first year yesterday instead.

We had this super late lunch at Tony Roma's at Suntec because dear dear hasn't been there before. Their serving, as with all American restaurants are HUGE. When my order came, I had half a huge chicken lying peacefully dead in front of me. After our 2.5 hours meal, we officially had a cow, a chicken a fish and a pig killed.

We did some shopping and I bought 3 books at a super duper sale price at this book fair by Carrefour. 6 bucks per book!! And these are books that I would be reading while standing in bookstores thinking they are too expensive to buy, yet too unwilling to let go of. Bought 'The Poe Shadow' by Matthew Pearl, 'The Ghost' by Robert Harris and 'For One More Day' by Mitch Albom. 'For One More Day' is an emotional and heart-wrenching book. I was literally in tears just by reading the beginning few pages when I was at a book store a few months ago. The other two books are thrillers. I've started on 'The Poe Shadow' and am already beinning to like the writer's style.

The shopping really was tiring, so we had to take a time-out at Starbucks, where I started on my books and dear dear FLIPPED through magazines (did I mention dear dear can't stand reading? He was so excited to see a Simpson's book at the fair, thinking it was comic of some sort. To his horror there were WORDS. Immediately without thinking he threw the book back to the pile, nevermind the book was coloured and picture filled! =S) I really liked the short time we had at the cafe sipping on our coffee (my Java Chip Frappuccino =)) and reading, away from the on-going din outside. Wished we had more of that.. hee hee

Went to Jewel Box at Mount Faber after that. Haven't been there before. I really like the idea of an outdoor lounge on top of the hill overseeing Sentosa (a little) and the cable cars, minus the yucky band that was singing my favourite songs out of tune. I shouldn't say band or singing. Just 3 ladies harmoniously destroying my songs. Dear dear had his yucky Tequilla On the Rock while I had this Peach plus Vodka thing which I so happen, can't taste a hint of peach or Vodka in it. haha.. Anyhow, it was still a lovely evening to end our night. =)

Have I mentioned that dear dear has gotten his long awaited XBox finally finally? Our CNY will be spent with me being entertained by my books and dear dear being entertained by his Box. Hee hee..

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!!.... I'm going to clean the windows now.. =S

Lovely flowers from dear dear =)
