Ponders

Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -- Isaiah 40:28-31

Days without my mum

My mum, brother and uncle's family are away in Australia, having fun I heard, from the last few text messages. I'm glad they are, but it ain't easy that mummy's not at home. She has always been the one keeping things at home in check and in tact. I'm thankful my dad and big brother helps around the house alot. One thing they can't help with is cooking. I was tasked to whip up some home-cooked meals on days that I am free or home early. You know, I do not hang around pots and pans often. The last time I tried to fry some garlic at dear's place, I almost burned his pot. And was one small step to burning down his kitchen. The last time I tried to cook Oyster Mee Sua for dear, I poured spoonfuls of starch powder directly into the hot boiling pot of vermicelli (those who know cooking should know we have to dissolve the starch powder in water before making use of them). They ended up clotting into disgusting brown translucent pieces of yuckiness.

Well, I'm thankful things are looking good so far. I attempted a fried rice + pan-fried dumplings + canned mushroom soup meal on Friday. Less the slightly-on-the-bland-side fried rice, the meal was kind of OK. Dear was there to help when I was in panic while frying the rice. Thinking back, it was an absoultely comical sight. At one point, dear cracked the eggs for me and accidentally dropped a huge piece of egg shell into the pan. I was panicking as my prawns are going to burn and didn't realise the size of the shell so I impatiently replied, 'Aiyah, nevermind lar...' and almost continued frying the shell into the food

Today, I was on my own. Managed to whip up a roast chicken + vegetable and hock chiew fishball soup meal. I forgotten the oven temperature required for the roasting and had to text my mum for help. The meal turned out fine too. I've gotta mention, the roast chicken got my mummy's roast chicken's sey (style) . Took some picz as evidence, in case somebody (my younger brother in Australia) say I anyhow say. Will upload them some other time. Did I mention besides my phone, my desktop recently also died-ed? Dear spent alot of his time helping me to revive it. It has just been reformatted, so I'm lacking alot of programs, including Adobe Photoshop, which I always use to compress my photos. 东西怎么都一起坏啊??
